Hathol Dagnir, son of Havor Dagnir, was a Ortayan born in Hinron. After his father died he became one of the most powerful men in the Kingdom and controlled much of it's army. After his rise to power, Dagnir waged war on Irthaemor killing thousands. Dagnir single-handedly killed over 400 men in one of the first battles, The Battle of Arusir. He later allied with Erunirc Bartoan of Valraed and intended to take the capital of Theonyth, Ortirith. Once Dagnir's armies reached Ortirith there was heavy casualties on both sides but Dagnir was loosing the battle. Hathol Dagnir then killed the warrior Akron and King Artaher in cold blood but left the prince, Athrald, by mistake. The battle was then won by the remaining forces of Theonyth and Hathol Dagnir escaped back to Ortayan. Hathol Dagnir's son, Corin Dagnir, was a powerful warrior like his father and 20 years after the Battle of Ortirith, Hathol Dagnir told him to fight for Athrald against the Barbarian Hordes from Morsayd led by Brutus.
